Introduction

The continual advancement of technologies and changes occurring within the plumbing industry and the built environment places a responsibility on plumbing inspectors to maintain knowledge and continually develop new skills.

Structured training programs within organisations such as a Continued Professional Development (CPD) scheme is recognised  by the Commonwealth Government and National Training Bodies.

The Institute of Plumbing Inspectors, Queensland is committed to facilitate competency-based training for its members through a formalised structured program and encourages all members to actively participate in Continued Professional Development.

The organisational success of Continued Professional Development is reliant upon the individual to participate and conscientiously seek and maintain knowledge and skill levels.  Accordingly the Institute has established a framework to encourage and evaluate the Continued Professional Development activities of its members.

The Institute's CPD program is continually reviewed and ensures consistency in the interpretation of the Laws and Codes that bind the plumbing industry and use effective means of communication to involve all members.

The successful outcome of the Institute’s Professional Development Program is dependent on its members sharing knowledge and quality information through structured meetings, seminars, industry workshops, technical forums and the use of the IPIQ website.
